Waterjet Stinger

Planting willows on a stream bank or planting windbreaks is a great way to help stop erosion and keep the land healthy.  However, even though the benefit is apparent, planting the trees can be very time consuming and strenuous.

The Portneuf Soil and Water Conservation District purchased a waterjet stinger.  This tool will be useful for those who want to revegetate stream banks by planting willows. It can also be used for installing windbreaks. The District knows the importance of this vegetation and understands many programs require stream bank vegetation or windbreaks.

The waterjet stinger can be rented here at the District Office, please call 237-4628 for more information.

The waterjet stinger helps to save time and makes planting willows a much easier job. It works by using water pressure to create an area where a willow or other tree species can be planted.  Once the hole is created by the waterjet stinger the producer can then finish planting the tree or shrub.

If you have any questions or concerns about the Waterjet Stinger please contact Ben Evans with SCC at 237-4628.
